SQUIRRELMAIL: how to modify E-MAIL SPAM FILTER

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SPAM
Except for some “old” users, all the incoming mail tagged as [Maybe SPAM] are automatically moved in the folder INBOX_spam (depending on your spam level value).
The users who use POP can access to INBOX_spam folder using webmail horde or squirrel ONLY.


 
 


 

Login on squirrelmail, this is the squirrel login page:

a) On the main page …
On the main page ...
a2) … you have to select Filters. Select Filters on the top of the page...

b) You can change the content of the spam rule, independently if the rule is enabled or disabled.
After changing, you can to reenable, disable, or keep the actual state or the rule.
Click on the sheet of paper [ Edit ] on the SPAMScore rule line to edit the rule.

c) On Configure Anti-SPAM Protection section you can change:

  • 1) Target score: change your spam level (default is 5 - Standard);
  • 2) Whitelist: exclude some kind of mail from the spam or junk “moving”;
  • 3) Action: select Junk Folder to move the spam mail into INBOX_spam folder (PLEASE NOTE: USING SQUIRREL YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE SPAM FOLDER);
  • 3) Action: select Discard to delete automatically the incoming mail which have a value HIGHER them your spam level;
  • 4) click on Apply Changes.

c2) The squirrel webmail service will inform you about the successfully rule update.
Check the returned status...

b) 1) Click on the white small square placed on the left of the SPAMScore rule line, then
2) 2)click on Disable.
Disable spam rule...

c) The squirrel webmail service will inform you that the rule is disabled.
Check the returned status...

c) The squirrel webmail service will inform you that the rule is disabled. The work DISABLED is no more present on the SPAMScore rule line.
Check the returned status...
