Server settings and parameters
Your e-mail client (the mail program you use to read/write emails on your workstation) must use the following settings unless you decide to use a browser-based method, such as webmail, to read and send e-mail, that does not need any setting.
Mail delivery server: | smtp.sissa.it | SMTP server, this is your outgoing mail server |
Mail reading servers: | imap.sissa.it | POP/IMAP server |
About your folders: Please, note that all your e-mail folders are NOT in your home directory, but are physically in the e-mail server and you can read them only via IMAP/POP protocol.
To reduce the cache limit of firefox/ mozilla
To reduce the space used, you can set your preferred browser to store 10mb of cache.
If you use firefox go to menu
Edit → Preferences → Advanced → Network→ Cache → Use up to 10Mb,
OR
Edit → Preferences → Advanced → Privacy →Cache → Use up to 10Mb.
Remove the content of your Trash (the subdirectory .Trash in your main directory).
Maximum size for an e-mail
The maximum size for an e-mail in text format is 10 Mb.
If your mail contains graphics or generally files, not
in text format, the mail server can increase its size, so we suggest to limit the size to 5 Mb.
