About account on democritos to use HPC resources, please read this page.
Access Servers (access on your main directory from outside sissa)
Users home directories are centrally stored on a file server of the Sissa main cluster. These directories are reachable outside sissa using a Secure Shell remote terminal connection (ssh) on shannon.sissa.it.
The connections on shannon are especially tailored for the user's ordinary tasks, like e-mail (pine), text processing, printing, copying files from or to Sissa users main directories.
There are not scientific SW, compilers and libraries on shannon.
To run your programs, you have to use your workstation or HPC resources.
Users home directories are shared on all sector workstation machines, which are assigned to users by the Sector computer responsible. On their workstations (Linux O.S.) the users can login and use the programs locally installed and the local file system - for example /scratch -(which are never backupped).
