The Webmail server is a browser-based client that requires at least IE 5.x or Netscape 4.5 to work.
Webmail server base URL: http://webmail.sissa.it/
You have a choice between two different interfaces: Horde and SquirrelMail.

Your e-mail filters

 

ENABLE FORWARD

DO NOT USE ANYMORE the .forward file created under your HOME directory

To SET an automatic forward address use WEBMAIL ONLY :!:

If you wish to:
reenable a forward that you created in the past, but that is now disabled, or
change the forward settings,

please go to REENABLE-CHANGE FORWARD section of this page.



Login on squirrelmail, this is the squirrel login page:

a) On the main page …
On the main page ...
a2) … you have to select Filters. Select Filters on the top of the page...


b) Now, you have to select Add a New Rule.
Select Add a New Rule...


c) In the Action section, click on the white button on the left of Redirect to the following email address:
Select Redirect to....


c2) the section will change… please note the example of squirrelmail someone@example.org
Note the change and the example...


d) 1) Fill the field with the e-mail address where you wish to redirect your incoming e-mail (for example aramis@turtle.it).
Then 2) click on Add New Rule.
Fill in the field...



d2) The squirrelmail service will inform you that the forward is active.
Check the returned status...




DISABLE FORWARD

How to DISABLE FORWARD previously enabled using SQUIRRELMAIL

Login on squirrelmail, this is the squirrel login page:

a) On the main page …
On the main page ...
a2) … you have to select Filters. Select Filters on the top of the page...


b) Here you will be able to disable the forward.
1) Click on the white small square placed on the left of the forward rule line, then
2) click on Disable .

c) The squirrel webmail service will inform you that the forward is disabled.
Check the returned status...




REENABLE-CHANGE FORWARD

How to REENABLE or CHANGE FORWARD previously enabled using SQUIRRELMAIL

a) On the main page …
On the main page ...
a2) … you have to select Filters. Select Filters on the top of the page...


REENABLE FORWARD

b) Here you will be able to reenable the forward.
1) click on the white small square placed on the left of the forward rule line, then 2) click on Enable.

If it is all ok, the word DISABLED is no more present on the forward rule line.


CHANGE FORWARD

You can change the content of the forward rule, independently if the rule is enabled or disabled.
After changing, you can reenable, disable, or keep the actual state or the rule.
In the following example, we use a disabled forward rule.

b) Click on the sheet of paper [ Edit ] on the forward rule line to edit the rule.

c) 1) Change the content of the rule and then 2) click on Apply Changes .

c2) The squirrel webmail service will inform you about the successfully rule update.
Check the returned status...





So to avoid any problem modify/enable/disable any filter using always webmail-horde or always webmail-squirrel.

ENABLE VACATION

If you wish to reenable a vacation previously created and now disabled, or change it please go to REENABLE-CHANGE VACATION section of the page.

a2) … you have to select Filters. Select Filters on the top of the page...


b) Now, you have to select Add a New Rule.
Select Add a New Rule...


c) In the Action section, click on the white button on the left of Vacation: The notice will be sent only once to each person…..
Select Vacation: The notice...


d) the section will change…
The default content of the first field 1) is yourusername@sissa.it and for the new users the alternative e-mail address too. The example is about a user with username roan: roan@sissa.it,ester.roan@sissa.it
Please write in Use the following message: field 2) the message that you wish to send (or you can leave the default text).
In the end click on Add New Rule 3).
Fill in Use the following message: field


d2) The squirrelmail service will inform you that the vacation is active.
The vacation message works immediately after you have saved the rule, until you disable it.
Check the returned status...




DISABLE VACATION

You can change the content of the vacation rule, independently if the rule is enabled or disabled.
