Servizio e-mail SMTP con autenticazione utente/SMTP E-mail service with user authentication

The email service has been updated with opportunity to use the feature of sending e-mail (SMTP) also from external networks, with secure user authentication.
So is not anymore necessary the use of external servers or access with VPN for sending e-mail from the domain “ sissa.it ”, while you are away from the SISSA campus.

Reconfigurations are not necessary if you want to use the e-mail service only from the SISSA local network.

SMTP service parameters for internal/external networks

Address: smtp.sissa.it
Authentication: Username and password (Plain)
Port: 465 (with SSL encryption) or 587 (with TLS encryption)

SMTP service parameters only for internal network Address: smtp.sissa.it
Authentication: None
Port: 25

Il servizio di posta elettronica è stato aggiornato, con la possibilità di usufruire del servizio di invio di posta elettronica (SMTP) anche da reti esterne, mediante connessione autenticata e sicura.

Quindi non sarà più necessario utilizzare server esterni o login su VPN per spedire posta elettronica dal dominio “ sissa.it ” quando si è fuori sede.

Per continuare ad utilizzare il servizio di invio di posta elettronica solo all'interno della rete locale SISSA non è comunque necessario operare alcuna riconfigurazione.
